Mountain Bike at Lake & Volcano District (7 DAYS)

Day 01, Santiago (SCL) – Temuco (ZCO) – Malalcahuello (Bike Fit)

Our staff will be waiting at the Temuco airport to transfer you toward the Cordillera of Andes, to the town of Malalcahuello, where you will have time to relax in the hotel and enjoy the environment around it, next to Araucarias and at the slopes of Lonquimay Volcano. After that our guide will help you to assemble your bike in case of need it, all this in order to get everything ready to begin our adventure on the next day. If you are renting one of our bikes, our guide will help with the bike fit.

Later we will have a technical meeting where we will inform you of all aspects of the tour, and after this we’ll share a nice welcome dinner paired with Chilean wines.

Our guides will meet you at 3 PM aprox and check out bikes for tour. Then, we’ll bike from San Pedro de Atacama towards Moon Valley, a valley of statuesque, rocky formations. Salt emerges to the surface, covering the surface with a dry, whitish layer that gives the place a lunar aspect. We’ll visit the statues of salt called “Las Tres Marias“ , the salt mine, the salt caves and we will walk up by the sand dunes of the area until we reach the summit of the Big Dune. Here, you will see the whole valley at the sunset, while a spectacular change of colors happens in front of your eyes and enjoy a delicious cocktail. Afterwards we return to San Pedro de Atacama by van and drop you off at Hotel or town.

Day 02, The Roots Cordillera (First ride)

We will start riding from Malalcahuello towards the Natural Malalcahuello reserve, home to one of the most unique landscapes on the planet, a prehistoric environment even used in many documentaries on the subject, among millenarian Araucarias trees and volcanic material, which was left from the past eruptions of the still active Lonquimay volcano.

Sand fields, volcanic stones, Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and 3 spectacular volcanoes
(Tolhuaca, Llaima and Lonquimay) views will join us during today’s ride.
At afternoon we’ll head back to our hotel where you can enjoy some rest and then dinner.

Day 03, Conguillio National Park (Second ride)

Today we will visit one of the most beautiful National Parks in Chile, the Conguillio NP, besides being one of the main reservoirs of the millenary Araucaria Araucana tree, is also home to the Llaima Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the world and which last eruptions was on Pedaling cross the park finding us with majestic Araucaria forests and Andean flora, as well as enjoy the spectacular views of lagoons, the Lake Conguillio and the impressive Llaima volcano next to the Sierra Nevada.

Day 04, Villarrica Volcano Ascension (Third ride)

Today we will move from the Andean zone to one of the largest destinations for adventure tourism in Chile, Pucon. After our arrival and a light lunch, will prepare ourselves to ascend to the iconic image of this place, the Villarrica Volcano
A challenging climb ahead, the first kilometers are the steeper’s, but the last one’s are not far behind in terms of difficulty concerns. On our tour we will find all kinds of terrain, beginning in asphalt and then penetrate in ancient lava flows now covered by forests who give us entertained trails covered by volcanic debris and roots of the forest. Once completed the trail will come back to the main road that leads to the lifts of the ski area of the volcano, but now we leave the asphalt behind and change it to a mixture of soil and sand areas to reach the summit of our climb where we will enjoy a breathtaking view of Lake Villarrica in its entirety.

Every effort has its reward, a dizzying descent awaits us, where will ride again that unique trail but now with all the adrenaline involved.

Day 05, Villarrica National Park (Fourth ride)

Every day a new adventure and a new scenario today will make a journey from north to south crossing the Villarrica National Park, entering the heart of this. Our road will take us through beautiful and remote places located between Quetrupillán and Villarrica Volcano and then perform a long, fast descent to the village of Coñaripe located on Lake Calafquén and ending our pedaling why not with a refreshing and well deserved swim in its waters.

Day 06, Los Nevados – Cerdúo (Fifth ride)

And the day of our last pedaling came, but will probably be the most entertaining of all. After testing our fitness with a challenging climb is time to test all our skills learned on this trip. Definitely one of the most spectacular trails that will enjoy throughout your life waits for us.
Enjoy spectacular views of the Villarrica volcano, while we test our technique in roots covered trails, rocks, sand fields, plus river crossings of snowy origin who run free in their basalt basin, all surrounded by all the green of southern Chile, definitely a great and exciting day awaits us.

DDay 7, Pucón –Temuco Airport (ZCO)

Sadly, it’s time to say goodbye to the wonderful Lakes and Volcanoes District of Chile. After our breakfast we will take our van and we head to Temuco airport to take the flight back to Santiago (SCL) or to your next destination.

It has been a journey you will never forget!!
